Yep I emailed this guy to see what amount he will sell it forimage His response was how about $15k for all the coins. Sure I said but will you throw in the golden gate bridge too? What a scam; check out the other high end Morgans he's listed.

So after I asked if he would take $10K for all the coins on the condition that the trade would have to happen face to face. His response was that he had a willing buyer that was going to wire the funds into his account, but that if I payed first... well you know the rest. A sure scam.

We have a match - click on the link and scroll down to the 1889-CC NGC MS61PL:

  • Have you contacted brokencc Mark?

  • Besides being a out and out scam, I am surprised Ebay hasn't done anything about the "End Auction Early" statement too.

  • Anyone else notice how hard ebay makes it to report these kind of problems ?

They hide the links and make it almost impossible to find them.

The link i had bookmarked all of a sudden doesn't work anymore.

Could someone link the page to make the report on this type of bogus auction?

    Please image

    Thanks

It looks like this one still works.

"The seller ended this listing early because the item is no longer available for sale."

I see all bids have been cancelled on that item. I hope a NARU is coming next

    << <i>Have you contacted brokencc Mark? >>

Cameron, I have not. I am "negotiating" to buy the group of coins for $8500.image If I can't "acquire" them that way, I will get a "friend" to bid on them through Ebay.image
  • I wrote them last night regarding their 1926-S Saint, asking for a picture of the coin in it's entire holder. Their response was that it was in a plastic flip but they'd be glad to oblige. I then made an additional request that when they take the picture, to put the coin next to a piece of paper with today's date written on it. I never heard from them after that.
  • I hope you get it Markimage

That is a real shame - he and I had agreed upon an $8500 purchase price for all of his listed coins. I offered $8500, he came back at $9500, I said no, he came back at $9000, I said no and he finally said ok at $8500. I even have his bank wire information so that I can wire the funds for this (certain) bargain. image
  • Mark,

Since you said you didn't report him to brokenCC for using their images, I moseyed on over and told them myself. They probably turned the guy in and that's why he got NARUd.

I (probably others too) turned the seller in once Mark posted the image from BrokenCC.

Good job folks. Frankly, I didn't think Ebay would act that fast and am wondering if the seller just got cold feet?
