Yes, it's cleaned. Maybe not recently, but it has been. I also don't think it's a VF+. Looks more like a Fine to me.

Sure looks like it to me. But, the coin is 173 years old.

As everyone says, be careful about raw on ebay. Coin doesn't look 'VF+' to me either. I don't have a Photograde on me, but I think there's too much wear on the eagle's wings.

It *might* slide in as a very weak VF-20, but I don't think so. I think the details are about F-15. And with the cleaning, I'd net it to about VG.

It's also nice to know that cleaning isn't a "problem," since this one is described as problem-free...

Thanks for confirming my decision to pass on this one.....

I have been waiting a real long time for a nice one to come along.....looks like I will be waiting a little longer.

It seems like the more time I spend on this board the less coins I buy. A mojority of the coins on Ebay are just not good enough. I seem to be buying higher quality albeit much more expensive coins. I think ultimately I am much happier with the coins I go end up purchasing.

I wouldn't touch it unless I were independently wealthy and not caring where my money went and then I know I wouldn't touch it. It looks as cleaned/polished as a '53 Buick hubcap going to a car show.............Rick

Cleaned and overgraded. No better than Fine. Cleaning is not recent but the surfaces are not original.

Any coin that old and in that grade that is that white has been cleaned.
