1984 Topps Football

Hi ALL,

I am currently working on UPGRADING a 1984 topps football set. I have elway and marino in psa 9 and though id buy a set without those cards and then upgrade. So far out of the 394 cards i bought i believe id like to upgrade 157 of them!!! Most are due to poor centering....and a few due to creases...corners im lookin for nm-nmmt. If you can assist...i have a notepad file with all the numbers im looking to upgrade...please let me know!!

ps- MR MILLER has been helping out, but i dont want to just use him as my only source....ill be working him to death!! Please let me know if you can assist!!

    Lothar,

I have about 25 sets that have picked looked through to get the guaranteed 9s and 10s out but there are still 9s there and tons and tons of nm-mt cards. I would love to move all the sets but I probably can help you out. To make it worth the time to pick through, I would have to charge you a fair price for the cards but I can definately help. Email me at briankritz@aol.com.

my taylor is fine....really im only looking for 7-8 grade raw WELL CENTERED NO SNOW NON-CREASED cards.....nothing of grade value. My psa 9 is Marino/Elway were bought ahead of time. I have several people helping me out bkrtiz out of the goodness of there heart....collector to collector.....Its why I love these boards so much is people really help out.....I dont like to take advantage of people though...so those who help will either get cards from me or payment along the lines of the value of the cards and time.

BKritz..i agree 20 cents would be a decent price for 50/50 centered grade 8 card. I have friends who are helping so when they have helped all they can i most CERTAINLY will give you the remainder of my list. Im sure arounjd 80 or so cards will remain.

Those of you who are helping me without requiring anything in return...expect something in return....that goes for Mr. Miller and Jackstraw...who combined will have sent me 100 cards....God bless them.

    Lothar -

a few years ago, I put together a near-complete '84 set, entirely 50/50. At worst, 51.5/48.5. Both ways. I am stuck with maybe four or five cards that are not centered quite that well (#100 Lyle Alzado is impossible!).

I bended on corners, snow, registraion, etc. But what I have is one cool-looking 1984 football set!

Just thought I'd let a guy know who seems to be able to appreciate the effort!

    Good luck!

    Nick

    Lothar,
I hope you don't mind me piggy-backing your thread, and please give him first priority on any cards, but if anyone has any left over, I need about 20-30 cards to finish off my raw 84 set. I know a few of them are stars (i.e. Marino, Elway, etc.), but I picked up this lot so cheap, I'd like to finish it. Looking for NMMT-MT+ with 60/40. If you have anything you can spare, please PM me.

    Thanks,

    Brian

I noticed that too David. That guy must be charmed or something, this is the second salvo of psa 10 84 and 85's he's gotten in 4 months.

Are you bidding up anything I should duck out of the way of?

I'm looking to finally finish off this set. Does anyone have the following available in raw NM-MT (60/40 or better) condition:

124 (Marino IA), 165 (Franco Harris), 280 (Disckerson), 358 (Montana), 359 (Montana IA).

And these two graded in PSA 8 (55/45 or better)

Please PM if you can help me out.

    Thanks again guys!!

i wasn't bidding on anything, just noticed what he had when i was scanning for 84 psa 10s.

I have a question for you guys who collect this set. I've noticed there are many examples of these cards that have rather wide white borders, almost 1/8 inch bigger than normal sized cards. Then I can find the same cards with a smaller border. Is this just some random factory stuff?
