I wonder what that coin would look like if it wasn't high reliefe and had the exact same amount of wear. I'd like to see a side by side comparison. Man I wish that they would bring back high relief on coins. It would be cool to see a modern commem come out with high relief eh?

The trouble is it took five blows from the dies to strike these coins, and the coins had to be made in 1,000 coin batches so that they could struck from the same die pair. For those reasons alone, you won't see any high relief modern coins in the foreseeable future.
