We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

...I,ve been meaning to `do it` too, embarassingly enough, my numismatic hymen is still
    intact.
..and I do have a few that could justify submission.
Still cant decide to go thru dealer or on my own.
Maybe I can find a proxy on these forums?

Was told by forumites that it was harshly cleaned lol

the knee-jerk reaction is to say, "cleaned" whenever there is that possibility, for example when an old coin is light in color, or has some hairlines. And in fact, even though the coins got "slabbed", they still were most probably "warshed off" at some point in the past, just not so abrasively and completely scrubbed that they wouldn't "make the cut"

I find it amusing that sometimes, a poster on here will ask "what do you think of this coin?" and will get the one-word response, "cleaned" from certain "forumites", as if that's all there is to it: it's cleaned, period. Next!

congrats on your order cladiator, glad you're happy with the coins, and happy that now they're slabbed.

I personally prefer to look at and handle and photograph such coins in their raw state, not encapsulated, though.

  • Way to go on your first grades!

Lets not jump on the forum members and say the forumites said it was cleaned. Only one person said it was cleaned baley.

Only person said it was baley

check again, detecto-boy. I didn't even respond in that particular thread.

(but now that you link it, yes, it appears to have been "warshed off" in the past, and that's ok with me!)

I meant to say "only one person said it was cleaned baily" Not that you said it.

We have some people who know their stuff around here! Several in that thread nailed the grade.

I meant to say "only one person said it was cleaned baily" Not that you said it.

In that case, try this version: "Only one person said it was cleaned, Baley."

Capitalization, punctuation, and correct spelling will go a long way toward your credibility as someone who is trying to "set the record straight" image

  • The first time I submitted coins, two of the four came back cleaned - needless to say I was disappointed.
