Oregon Commem question

Hello,
Who can tell me something about the vertical raised bumps (technical term) on the 1926-S Oregon Commemorative? The ones I am refering to are up in the sun's rays: one above the covered wagon and one above the cattle pulling the wagon. At first I thought it was only mine, but I seem to see them on other 1926-S Ore Commems as well. This isn't a die polish mark is it? Do all 1926-S Ore Commems have these marks? Thanks

Sorry about the lighting in this picture. The coin really is quite bright.

I'm not sure, but it could be pitted/rusted dies ... I have seen similar marks on other coins

“We are only their care-takers,” he posed, “if we take good care of them, then centuries from now they may still be here … ”

Oh, good. Another excuse to boast about the one I dug. image

Unfortunately, the coin isn't here, and I can't tell from my small picture if it has those bumps or not. Don't remember seeing any.

Pitted dies are a thought, I suppose.
