Better pics of the 1928 toned Peace $ from Heritage!

This is actually a pretty good representation of the color of the coin. I have no other toned Peace $ with blue being the primary color. I imagine this must be end roll toning or perhaps the coin was sitting face down on a velvet jewlery box to pick up this color. And look, you really can't see the fingerprint that well!
Thanks

Dennis -- do you have pics yet?

Sure, but that doesn't mean that on the right day it won't be a MS62.

Sure, do you ever go to the Anaheim show?
Thanks

Frattlaw, I have a question and this is just for discussion sake OK? You've mentioned that this could go 62 on the right day and admit it is an au58. I don't get it, I know you usually keep your coins, so why do you keep mentioning it could go 62 on the right day? For registry points?
I'm just curious. I know for myself, if it was a keeper, and I knew it had obvious wear and rub and was definitely an au58.... I wouldn't want it in a 62 slab. But that's just me. I guess perhaps for future sales might make someone want it in a slab that it doesn't deserve IMO.
This is in no way knocking you or your coin, I am just curious is all.
As for registry points, I'm too far down the list to care about that. I think my set is #19 or #20 @ NGC.
As for this one, I think it is as nice or nicer than most true MS62s. But then again, isn't that always the case with really nice AU58s?
After all a little "cabinet friction" shouldn't keep it out of a MS grade -- should it?

Yeah yeah, I've caught that a couple times from you. But before you pass judgment on my opinion, you should try to understand what I wrote is all. Anyways... this is a Peace$ which is a "Modern" isn't it?
You can easily see the difference between a AU55 and an AU58 while it is much tougher to distinguish between an AU58 and a MS62 -- just go ask Marty! AU55 are coins that have definite wear from being handled. An AU58 might have slight rub just on the highest points -- but from what source. 3 days in a cash registry in 1928 or 1835? Doubtful, more than likely from the way the coin was stored. So if the coin was stored improperly should it be an AU58 just because of that. Improper storage also leads to colorful toning. Should all toned coins be AU in principle?
Anyway I could go on and on. I think you and I agree on this point.
