My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

    The bidding was light tonight. I am kinda suprised I was the high bidder. I didnt "Rip" it by any means but I have been looking for a Elgin that looks like this for awhile.

    This commem is one of the oddest in the series. Note that it is called the 1936 Elgin Centenial but the dates on the obverse read 1673-1936. What the heck is that all about?image And to top it off, the city of Elgin Ill was founded in 1835 so the actual centenial date is 1935. Whats up with that?image

    I knew I should have been at the comp by 9:45PM...I did bid, but placed a bid just short of yours earlier in the eve, then figured there wouldnt be any ripping on that one, figuring it would go for almost CU price, as alot are lately, so settled in for the Monday Nite game... but damn, for what you paid...you got a real nice Elgin there my friend...I'll give ya, nah, you'd never bite...lol
