  • Either that or he puts em on the grill next to his hamburgers and hot dogs. The one experiment I ever did with toning coins in an oven, I used a few circulated 50 states quarters. I wrapped em up in tinfoil first, so there wouldn't be any rack marks. I got some nice gold toning after about 25 minutes, but not much color to speak of. I left them in at 400 degrees for about 35 minutes. Maybe I should have left them in longer or used more heat?
