1893-S Barber Quarter Question

I just got my first barber quarter today, a 1893-S ANACS AU50. It is a really nice looking coin with good luster. I noticed it is a Breen#4135 Mint mark far to the right variety. Could someone tell me if this variety adds extra value to the coin, if it does I will send it to ANACS to have it designated on the holder?

Thanks!

    Mooser,

Not much value added to the mintmark position, but a 93s is a tough coin. Nice score!

The far right mint marks are somewhat common in coins from 93, 94 and 95 as the mints experimented with positions for this coin. They are still unknown in 96 ... and then reappear on the 97s (common) before not being seen again (to my knowledge).

David Lawence wrote; "Difficult to find in all grades, but especially from Fine to EF. AU coins are sometimes available and should be bought if nice. Very scarce in Mint State ... "

“We are only their care-takers,” he posed, “if we take good care of them, then centuries from now they may still be here … ”
