I have been buying coins on Teletrade for years - be very careful of their descriptions. At least they image most coins now. In years past, fewer of the coins were imaged and you had to rely on accurate descriptions. Remember, you do have a return privilege.

You can bid on Teletrade via phone or on the web. Go to www.teletrade.com to get signed up and set up with your ID's and passwords. There is probably a phone number listed on the website if you prefer to talk to someone real time.

There are similarities and differences. In either place you can place a maximum "proxy" bid, but bid amounts and increments in Teletrade are fixed (you can't bid $462.91, for example -- either $450 or $475 because bid increments are $25 at that level).

You can also choose to just hit the next bid while the auction is going. For example, when the current high is $450, you can click to raise to $475 or enter a higher max bid (again, that would be $500, $525, $550, et cetera at that level).

Personally, when I've used the maximum bid, I've *never* won at less than my maximum. Don't know if that's typical, dumb (bad) luck, conspiracy theory or it shows I'm putting in solid but not excessive bids...whatever it is, take it for what it's worth.
