New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

Platinum bullion coin-(this last could have a variety of sizes, depending on how much you want to spend)
should the .1 oz be a standard since the others run expensive if Capitol looks to do a standard frame?

Actually, I think the 1/10 oz looks nice in this composition. You might want to go to 1/4, but I would go no larger.

<< <i>The only question is layout. Sholud it just say Statue of Liberty(I guess at the top) >>
If it were me, I wouldn't want to put the individual names of the coins (1986 commemorative etc) beneath the coin, I think a display like this works better with as few printed words as possible. About having it say "Statue of Liberty", this doesn't strike me as a great 'Title' either, it's too much to the point. I'm not great at coming up with Titles, but maybe something like "Views of Freedom", or "Lady Liberty" would be a better heading? Maybe you could start a poll for a good Title?

I'd go with the clad, since the others are coin silver already, the clad would be nice to showoff another 'variety'. Though, it would be handy to have a NY silver handy, to stick in the slot, see if for whatever reason the display looks nicer with it over the clad.
Just want to say cool idea on this group of coins, if/when you get around to calling Capital Plastics, you should do another post with what you're ordering and the $$, if enough others were interested, you could bulk order for cheaper maybe. I'd be interested to get the plastic and put this set together myself.
Need more $$$ for coins?

not a coin, but here's a US Mint produced medal that would look good in the display. I've never seen this before, just popped out from a google search. Are there other mint produced medals featuring the statue of liberty?

They made that one in silver, too: Link -- probably a little bit more affordable than the gold one.
If anyone's interested let me know.
