Good Indian Head Cent Dealers

SDSportsFanSDSportsFan Posts: 5,136 ✭✭✭✭✭
I'm still looking for 12 IHC's (all pre-1887) to finish my set in VF-EV condition. I was wondering if anyone could point me to some sellers on ebay who are known for offering accurately graded, original, non-cleaned IHC's.

Any and all assistance you can provide is greatly appreciated. Thank youimage

    Eagle Eye Rare Coins

I dont know if he carries mid grade indians, but he is probably the most known indian cent dealer out there.

David Lawrence is another good dealer. They only have slabbed ones, though.

    Goodluck,

P.S. If you'll PM some specifics on what you're looking for, I can do some online searching for you and send links to anything that might fit your wants.

Rick does sometimes have the better dates in circulated grades, but usually in XF+. I've bought a few of the better dates from him in XF/AU condition. If he operates like a typical specialist, I'd imagine he buys a fair number of these in collections but would probably wholesale out the circulated non-keys.

I don't anyone who consistently sells these mid-grade Indians on eBay -- and certainly no one whose opinions I consistently trust, especially since these are usually sold raw.

I have a few I might sell ... I am not a regular seller, but have quite a few nice EF/AU's ... PM me and I'll see if I have any that match your needs

I'm sure there are some on EBay but that can be dangerous territory for circ Indian cents.

Besides Rick Snow, who doesn't image these on his site but you can trust, JJ Teaparty usually has quite a few circs in their inventory with clear images.

Here are three I found on ebay from seller "cwtguy"

Has anyone dealt with this seller, and do these coins look OK?

Yeah, good call. I got a couple of mine from JJ Teaparty, too. They're a very good source of VF/XF/AU decent-to-better date Indians. They usually have quite a few in stock and on the web site.

I bought my XF 1870 from them a few years ago. To my surprise they sent me the Pick Axe variety (S-7). It doesn't have much of a premium, but I still thought it was cool.

    Wow! Thanks again everyoneimage

I found a couple nice ones on Rick Snow's (Eagle Eye Coins) site, and several others on JJ Teaparty's site.

I guess I now know where alot of my money's probably gonna be goin' over the next few monthsimage

I've never purchased from Dick, but others on here have recommended him.

If you make it up to SF from SD, Witter Coins in SF is THE best dealer for raw coins. Very accurate strict grading. Always has lots of terrific circulated better date IHCs. I was there once when he had bought an entire AU set back from a collector that he had helped to build the set. What a nice 1872 and 1877! I really wanted to buy them but decided to stick with MS ones.
