    Nice find
coinimaging.com/my photography articles Check out the new macro lens testing section
  • here's a couple of places you may start looking:

Canada established it's 2nd Transcontinental Railroad on April 7th, 1914 and had a ceremony to drive the last spike on that date. here's a link

Also - AT&T put together the first transcontinental phone line from LA to NY in the same month.

    Maybe that'll help image
  • As keets said - it is a transportation token - probably for a train.

I can find no recordsof the Rieker Provision Co.

Good luck in your search image

Hey Purple- "Dig O' The Day" is a patented LordM title, so get your own. "Look What I Found" is a good one.

I'll let you off the hook this time since you spelled it "Dig Of The Day" instead of using the patented O'. image

Cool find. I just logged on and haven't made it over to the MD forum yet. I presume it is a September find? I'll be putting up the new threads for the September finds tonight, since it would seem some of our digging brethren have already gotten busy. I just wanted to let the August award polls finish first.

Speaking of which, those of you who haven't voted in the polls, click the link in my sig line for the August contestants, and you can help pick the winners of our August Detecting Forum awards. The polls will close this evening.

  • In case you didn't see my response in the other thread, the word in the middle in the script letters is 'Trade', not what the other person in the other thread thought he saw. I use a font similar to that one in Windows, so I probably see the letters more clearly than most would from the photo. I would assume that the 'words' below 'SYSTEM' were the city and state the token maker (as in manufacturer of the token itself, not necessarily the merchant who issued it) was located in at one time, but they seem to have decayed to the point of illegibility.
