Well I just got me new toy in after hearing about the QX3 Digital Blue Computer microscope I decided to look at some coins under 60X magnification to see what I could see and after a few minutes of playing around I threw and uncirculated 1954-S Lincoln cent on the slide.
Right off the bat I noticed that the mint mark had some doubling too it. I thought it was most likely an RPM, but I had to check out coppercoins.com just to make sure.
So you take a look at the two images and let me know if you think I have attributed it correctly

If you agree it's the same coin then I am now the owner of a:
1954S-1MM-002
| S/S WEST (EDS)
CONECA cross reference : RPM#002
Wexler cross reference : WRPM-002
.....that I didn't know I had

Got quoins?
<< <i>looks good to me! whats the premium on one of those? >>
coppercoins.com lists an MS63 at $3.00 bucks and I am not sure what the price guides say for a 54-S, but I would imagine that pretty close to the normal book price. Very small markup, but still a nice find since I already owned the coin and wasn't aware it was an RPM.
i would like to get one too.where did you get it at.if you don't mind me asking.?

Very cool......I was looking at one of these a month or so ago. I never did end up getting it but.......
Can you experiment with lighting to get a more realistic color in the photo? Can this be done with the software?
For only what amounts to a couple bucks, this really looks to be quite a camera.
Are the magnification ranges variable ?
I don't mean to be such a hammer, but by owning this thing, you da man......

If you are interested in the microscope, you can find them on ebay.

As for lighting and other adjusment there are tons, but since I just got this thing hooked up tonight I don't have everything mastered yet. The magnifications available are 10X/60X/200X.......................that's it, but that still gives you a decent selection and one's that will allow you to save your eye site when looking for DD, RPM and other errors
The QX3 isn't all that bad actually. Glad your having fun.
Good luck with that puppy !!

Compuvisor sells these both on ebay and on their website for $47.95 USD. They also have bundles on their website where you can buy multiple products from Digital Blue packaged together at substantial savings.

I had to do this because some of the older thick NGC slabs that I had wouldn't allow for a clear image of the RPM's or other variety locations until I cut off part of the plastic piece. It didn't affect the lighting.
Have Fun!!!

As to its value, an MS63 1954S Lincoln is worth about a quarter. The RPM in MS63 is a $3-$4 coin. That's quite a markup. In MS65 a normal 1954S Lincoln is worth about $2. The RPM in the same grade is a $6-$7 coin.

I have about 165lbs of wheats
165 x 140 =23,100 x .25 = $5775.00
cool.....I can almost afford to take a break
Hell, I don't need to exercise.....I get enough just pushing my luck.
<< <i>Hmmmmm......How many pennies are in a lb.....approx 140?

Your pricing works only if the coins are uncirculated, and then it wouldn't be a good idea to sell them by the bag or pound. If they are circulated you need to knock the quarter down to two or three cents. Also, there are 146-148 cents in a pound. Almost three full rolls.
165 x 146 = 24,090 X .03 = $722.70
Not quite so fast on that break.

but i wasn't happy with the focus adjustment on it. (one slight move and you are clean off the coin)
fortunately for me....we have a dealer of microscopes here in indianapolis, couple that with my "need"
to modify things...
and voila!
my qx3 microscope head is mounted on a a professional microscope stand that has a stage that has coarse and very fine
up and down adjustment knobs...and the stage also moves latitude and longditude..called "x and y" positioning.
bought the stand used by itself for 30 bucks.
got me some model train layout "street lights" and a train transformer. about 20 bucks
qx3 ...about 28 bucks.
works great!....for ebay.
I carefully used a sidecutter tool and file to remove part of the shroud from around the light.

<< <i>They have cameras out there you can buy that attach to the eyepiece of any regular microscope and take photos through, if you feel uncomfortable looking at your coins through a kids toy. >>
Doesn't bother me a bit. As far as I can see, it works pretty good. I just can't get the lens close enough to the coin when using the highest power.
<< <i>Ok, I bought one. Those of you that said you cut off the blue lip around the light.. do you mean the entire blue part that sticks out at the bottom end of the scope? If so, how did you cut it? It's made of hard plastic, and I don't think my pocket knife is going to do the trick. After it's cut, what about the little light that sticks out? It doesn't look like you can cut the plastic around the light part. Appreciate any help. Thanks. >>
Don't have one yet. My guess would be to use a Dremel Tool and wear protective goggles while you do it.

It's truly funny, no make that truly sad, that people in this day and age are so wrapped up in their own little world that they refuse to try and teach someone else the correct or accepted way of doing things.
leothelyon answered your guestion above your last few posts and even included a picture?????
What else are you asking?
