My 15 year old son has a keen eye for coins. He's been going to the shows and shops since he was born and I guess he has learned a little. Several months ago he wanted a Proof 1883 N/C nickel to match his MS64. We went to the Baltimore show and he searched around and brought back a coin from some dealers "junk" box. He said: "Dad, I think this is a proof." Well, it was! It was marked AU and he paid AU money for it. The coin looked a little dirty and if not for the denticles, you couldn't have told it was a proof. He wanted to send it to NCS and then NGC. TODAY the grades were posted and the coin was graded Proof 64 Cameo!!! When it comes in, I'll post some pics.

First let me add my kudos to your son.I have met and talked with this young man,and I can honestly say I'm not surprised.Anyone who meets and listens to him will immediately know he isn't your average kid.He has listened not only to his dad,but other very knowledgable numistmatists.
