Terminology

I thought I was doing well as a beginner coin collecter until I happened upon this forum. Now after reading some of your posts I realize I'm just barely a dabbler. I've been collecting old coins that caught my eye for years, but I never really got into the aquiring real knowledge stage. So occasionally expect questions from me that seem elementary to you.
My first question is about the accented hair Kennedy half. From the posts I guess that AT means artificial toning(bad) and NT means natural toning(good) right? Anyway the question is about the term accented hair. I looked at the pic, and it looks like any other Kennedy half to me. What is the difference between accented hair verses normal hair?
Thanks for any and all help.

  • What a great forum. While I'm thanking others for welcoming me, more are posted. So thank you everyone.
Shamika, I was visiting my parents last week in Lorain, OH. On my last day there I was driving past a park. I stopped because I rememberd that it used to be a couple of blocks of houses when I was a kid. I only got to hunt for a few hours. I found a 1906 Indian, a 1941 wheat, a sterling ring, and a couple of bucks in clad. My mistake was telling my brother-in-law.
By the time I get back to Ohio next summer, he'll have it cleaned out.

  • Welcome to the boards! That`s why most of us came here in the first place, to ask questions. Some of us that have been here for awhile tend to know each other because of a common history of being together through this medium of the internet and forums. So, try not to be embarressed by questions that you may consider elementary. We where all new and didn`t know the elementary stuff either when we first started into this hobby. image

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)
