Sources for two-cent and three-cent pieces

Hey folks-

Do any of you fine people know of good sources for circulated two-cent bronze, three-cent nickel, and three-cent silver pieces? I am looking for decent mid-grades pieces and varieties. I have not collected these series seriously for a while. Thanks!

I don't know about the three centers, but it's an uphill battle finding nice unmolested Two Centers. Basically, look anywhere and everywhere. eBay, online dealers, coin shops, shows, etc. There's a lot of junk out there being passed off as problem-free, though.

    Lane,

About three weeks ago, someone brought in small hoard of Nickel three centers and two centers into a local shop. The grade ranges were from about Vg thru AU. Most were pretty nice, but most (especially the nicer ones) have since been dispersed. The guy had collected them years ago. There were about 100 of each.

I have a virtually complete, circ. 3 cent nickel set, and 3 cent silver (type I and II) set that I've been thinking of selling on Ebay this fall. Most coins are raw, a few slabbed. I haven't looked at them in probably 5 years, so will have to reevaluate and photograph them. If you're interested, let me know.
  • I would love to find a good source for very high quality two-cent pieces but right now the pickings seem very scarce. There are some very nice pieces by NGC, but the PCGS pieces are truly difficult to find in red. Jack Beymer has an assortment, but besides monitoring the Heritage auction site, I know of no other good source. What am I missing?
  • When I was building my set Kagins always carried some HI end pieces (67RDtype) They were also priced accordingly.
  • Birddog was a forum member for quite a while and I purchased some MS 3cent pieces from him. Anyone know where he is?
