    I don't know, it's raw! Guess it's MS65/66!

Ken: The 1896 is a bit tougher in PL/DMPL than the typical common date Morgans, so this is a nice find for a type set. The coin looks like a solid MS-64 (Shot-65) with nice cameo contrast and perhaps on the verge of being PL.

I can see some field reflectivity from the photos, but cannot make a determination of mirror depth from them. Nice coin!! image

Ken: If you can read newsprint from 14 inches away then it sounds more like a DMPL.

Actually you could add some more coins to your Morgan type set, and it would not even include the alterations that are so minor that you can hardly notice them. Here's a short list.

1878 8 tail feathers. A real interesting looking coin I might add.
1878 7 tail feathers, convex breat feathers
    1878-1904 concave breast feathers
The 1921 Morgans, which are quite different from the earlier issues.

I know that there are several others, these varieties are REALLY easy to spot.

I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Bill: You've got the Morgan concave and convex breasts confused...

The 1878-7TF Reverse is concave (There's also an 1878-Rev '79 with Convex breast)
and the typical 1879-1904 issues (other than the 1879-S Rev '78, 1880-CC Rev '78 etc) are convex breasts.
