"Coins are a good place to be right now, and I see nothing on the horizon that would jeopardize that."

John: Good report. And, your above conclusion will bring comfort to my wife who asked me late last night exactly why I was currently building 22 different collections at this time image

  • Thanks John! Great report. Amazing that one can purchase at multiples of sheet and then have DEALERS standing in line to buy.

Wondercoin--- ah yes..... we all ultimately must answer to the Mrs!

Mojo--- not multiples of sheet, I said thousands over sheet on the example I cited, though I'm sure there were coins that traded at the show for multiples of sheet, I did not sell any of them.

Thanks John! Great report. Amazing that one can purchase at multiples of sheet and then have DEALERS standing in line to buy.

Being an ex-NGC finalizer certainly must help in being able to tell others you have a legit graded coin in the holder rather than a lower end piece. If Mojorizn or I were to say that, and even if it were actually true, there wouldn't be so many (or any) lined up to take a shot.

Thanks for the report John. Very informative.

Thanks, John. Nice report. As a copper collector I ca say that two major auctons are coming soon in September 2004 and January 2005. Copper guys like me are holding back to bid on these and if anyone thinks that the early copper will go for anywhere near sheet, think again. Try buying a decent 1793 Liberty cap Cent for $1600 in Good.

John: Thanks for the excellent ANA Show Report. I also signed up to receive your periodic e-newsletter.

However, I was disappointed that your rare coin inventory was not listed on your web site for reference...

    Thanks for the report John.

Could you give us some details on the commems. I know I got shut out in the Heritage Auction and Bear posted last night asking about the commem market. Is this a blip on the screen or the real deal?

I, too, noticed the absence of a coin inventory on your web site.

Stuart--- Right now, I am trying to do many different things all at the same time and unfortunately I can't do it all. It will be a while before coins are listed on my website, but I am planning my inaugural Coin World sell ad for sometime in September. Anyone should feel free to call me and I will tell you what I may have at any given moment that may be of interest to you. Better yet, email or fax me your want list.

Thanks so much to all for all of the other VERY nice comments.

FatGuy--- Regarding commems, my sense is this the beginning of a 6 month or longer run. They are all selling well in MS64 and higher, except for the issues that you just always see everywhere such as Arks, Boones, BTW, and a few others. My favorite commem right now: Isabella quarters in MS65 and better.

I also really like the Texas in MS 67, great design and silly cheap right now. I may be a bit biased here by my love for that state, being a former resident long enough to acquire the Texas pride.

John: I am sorry I missed seeing you at your table. We have not spoken in a long time since you graciously chatted with us at the EBAY coin chat room a few years back.

Of course, then you spoke as the representative as well as grader of NGC .

Hopefully, I will not miss you the next time in Baltimore.
