1971-72 OPC PSA 10 The "Real"Deal

A psa 10 of the Real Deal is on ebay from this set that is really growing on me. Never heard of anyone named Real before I saw this sweet card. Any idea how many 10' are even graded from this set. I just started collecting the topps set of this year. Little before my time, but old school hockey cards are great. I love seeing these old unny's and teams that no longer exist. I love the designs of 71-72 and 72-73 hockey. Any idea what the Real Deal 10 will go for, any other 10's been on the auction block from this year. My guess is $1,500. With the winner being Mr Parkies and a close second browntoni, with goodriddance making a surprise snipe, but comes up short.......Anybody ever see the Real Lemieux even play, was he a fighter or a binger??????

    last year for 186.00

    I think Mr. Parkies bid 155.00 and lost
    to a guy in California.

    zsz70, with price you got on 72-72 topps card, my real lemieux guess is way out of line. I will now say it won't break a grand. My new guess is $300.......

    I think "Real (reee l ) Lemieux' had his greatest success, playing in the WHA with the Quebec Nordiques...but I may be mistaken too

    There are 7 PSA graded 10's from the 1971-72 OPC . 6 are listed in the pop report the 7th is #93 which is mislabled 1970 OPC.

    The Real Lemieux has the worst centering of any of the 10's i have seen from the set.

    I owned 5 of the 7 10's. 3 of them i purchased on ebay Mr Parkies was never the under bidder (he was the 3rd highest bidder on one of them).

    If you are interest in building the set Mickey's now owns most of the 1/1 9's graded from the set

    what would a 71 Jacques Plante All Star PSA 9 1/1 bring? i bought it a few years ago for $50

    GR, I bet that card would bring $300 + nowadays. I think opc guys go straight and strong on these. I really wanted a tim horton (in sweet old school pens unny) from this set and thought maybe 70 bones would bring it home. It went for $170, or somewhere around there. I just started following this set and bought few topps cards from it. I will register a topps set, but if i can get opc from IT FOR GOOD PRICE, I'm all over it. I may be a player in this real deal card, if the bidding doesn't get too crazy. Yzerman...any idea what other 10's went for and is the owner of the mislabeled one is going to fix it?

    Pratt $150.00 ebay sale
    Smith $150.00 private
    Jarrett $150.00 private (mislabeled 1970)
    Donoghue $230.00 ebay sale

    I sold all 5 PSA 10's to the same person and im unsure of his plans for these.

    Mickey bought my PSA 9 Tim Horton (which i bought from goodriddance). i has considerably better centering than the one that sold on ebay.

    I believe your PSA 9 Plante would bring 3 to 5 times what you paid for it.

    Looked up the Real deals stats, was a binger, only in a handfull of scraps while in pro hockey. Looks like Mickey's is going for this one. I still haven't seen browntoni surface yet in the bidding wars on this one. My morning line now looks like Mickey's the 2-1 favorite to bring the real deal home. With Mr Parkies in at 5-1, rdbjr is the dark horse in the bidding at 12-1, browntoni at 15-1 and goodriddance as the long shot at 50 -1. I look for it to go around $225 tonight......

    Ended lower than I expected, but seeing as DSL does not take PayPal or credit Cards this may very well have kept the price down. Great card and a great pick up for Mickey!

    I really felt the centering hurt the price. # 154 Lemiuex is a relatively easy card from that set to find centered . Every 10 from this set that i have seen or owned has been near dead centered or dead centered except that one.

    What's going on with this set? I gather that you are no longer collecting it, Randy, and I see browntoni just listed a bunch of cards from his set.
