MS64...maybe MS65 Red is my guess.......I see a few marks on the face......may not be enough to really knock it down a lot as the rest of the coin looks pretty choice.
You guys are pretty generous. I've had IHs with less face hits than that which graded 63-4. No way is that gonna make 65. The reverse is real PQ but thats only about 20% of the grade (unless it has a problem)
MS64.75 and 97% red nice coin that just misses 65 IMO, the marks don't look too severe for 65 but their placement is unfortunate. Move them to the periphery of the obv or rev, and it's a choice 65/66, super look to the fields and outstanding luster.
I'm saying 64RD, but both the 64 and the RD are slightly weak. Neither 63RD nor 64RB would shock me. Worst case, 63RB, but it's a super-choice 63RB worth a considerable "premium" if so.
It's in a PCGS MS65RD holder and was offered at a PQ price by a major dealer. I returned it (about 6 months ago) because of the contact on the lower obverse -- the reverse is borderline MS67 and the strike and color are beautiful.
Just caught this one. You guys are some tough graders. It's important to understand that Shylock's picture is really large and of very high quality and if that coin was on ebay or elsewhere those facial hits would not even be visible.
I've seen plenty of worse IHCs in 66 holders. As its a common date a better 65RD can surely be found, but if it was a rarer date I would be glad to own it as a 65 [at the right price].
I missed it too. I love the reverse on this coin. The grade looks correct to me based upon comparing it to my collection of 64 reds. Toothpuller I think your comments are right on.
Nice coin. Didn't get a chance to guess since I'm out of country. The large pics magnify even tiny flaws. Have seen worse looking PCGS 66R coins. Couldn't argue with 65R on this one as everything else is VERY pleasing.

Face hits hold it back bigtime.
Can see some chatter in the field.
Id say 63RD
Added; The grading services might go as low as AU if that looks like bigtime rub, but if so Id send it back.

(Might go 63 or RB on a bad day? But only on a bad day. Looks 64 and RD to me.)
Now grade mine!
