Caught ya. My booby head LC.

a.) grade the foto skills, have a lot of trouble with coppers.
b.) grade the beauty (I like her).

Be near brutal (especially on the foto skills).

EF-45 to AU-50 detail, corroded, cleaned & recolored. Corrosion was removed at coronet point on obverse and TES in STATES. To me, net VF-30.

Also, the picture grades MS64 for being able to accurately portray all that detail image

    Photos are fine.

Coin has AU-50 details, weakly struck, was corroded and seriously doctored up.

Obverse central photo devices are sharp but the periphery on the obverse seems soft and not nearly as crisp.....nit picking but since you asked....

Beaded hair cords, lock of hair in field at base of coronet, bottom right point of bust extends beyond wave of hair.

There are five different heads on 1839 cents

Head of 36 has plain cords tying up the hair in a bun. All the others have beaded hair cords (one variety 1839/6 not rare but expensive)

Head of 38 Beaded hair cords, no lock of hair in field at base of coronet, point of bust over 1 (two varieties both common)

Silly head Beaded hair cords, wth lock of hair, right point of bust does NOT extend past wave of hair (two varieties both common

Booby head See above (six varieties four common, one very scarce, one very rare)

Head of 40 also called Petite Head, Head is tipped forward so that point of bust is above the 8 (one variety common)

Since you want us to be picky. The pics are a bit over-exposed. Turn down the brightness a hair and the pics would look better. Nice pics.

Photo skills - very good! The color looks very natural to me, better than 99% of the copper photos I see. And very crisp.

Coin, net EF-40, commercial grade. It has been cleaned on the reverse, but these coins were noted for flat strikes and without the cleaning the coin would be an AU-50, commercial grade. EAC net grade would be in the VF-25 range. EAC VF-25 prices are in the EF-range.

EAC VF-25 prices are in the EF-range.

I still don't understand why they do this.

"we" (everyone else) call it an EF40, and price it as an EF40
"they" (EAC) call it a VF-25, but price it the same as we price our EF40

what good does this do anyone?
