guys and gals, with the ban expiring soon on prebans, would you dump your pre's and put them into coins, hold onto what you have and do you think think the 1994 ban will expire??

  • You really expect someone to answer this, then the feds know too.

  • nothing wrong here, this is all legal and guns are a legit investment, why are you so paranoid??? I am not worried about the feds?? Are you?? People like you make legit owners look bad. WOW! This is so stupid!!!!
  • AR18, I have a feeling you will be unpleasantly surprised in the next 30 days. Political posturing dictates the AWB must go on in some form despite the fact it does nothing to reduce crime.
  • earlwbollinger, not all of us gun owners are machine gun with silencer toting madmen, just Cameron. image
  • I like other forms of "big guns" if you know what I meanimage

Personally I'll be keeping all seven of my pre-ban original Beretta 15 round magazines for which I paid less than $25 each. I'll also be keeping my pile of 25 round banana clips for my Ruger 10-22.

The so-called "Assault" weapons ban will expire. Prices will tank on those pre-bans because they will no longer be "pre-bans" anymore.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

I think prebans will hold their own and 1994 wiil be the dividing line like 1964 was for Winchester. I think for pc reasons you won't see any more "aw" imported from the commie countries with pistol grips, bayonet lugs and flash supressors any more. Domestic "aw" rifles in preban configuration will probably be available through special order. I don't see the bottom falling out though so I'd hold on to what I had.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

What difference does it make if I have a bayonet lug and a flash supressor. It's been years since I "fixed bayonets" and I don't shoot at night anyway.
  • I haven't really thought about this so thanks for the thread. I have quiet a bit invested in these although I did not buy them as an investment. But I think the prices will fall sharply if the ban is not extended. Re the pre 64 Winchester, I thought that was more of a quality issue rather than an availability issue. I don't see this being the same.

It didn't mean that it's an issue of availability or quality. IMO the issue is that a pre-2k original comfiguration assault weapon will be more desirable than a post-2k model IF the ban is lifted and IF the manufacturers go back to pre-94 configuration.

I sold over 100 20 rd mags for M16 several years ago. Just no use for em. No AR15 or M16....but I...kept the 4,000 rounds that came with em and bought a Mini-14 with the mag money.

I will keep my pre-ban Beretta mags and Browning HP mags. Also the 20 rounders for the Mini.

I doubt Kaliphoney will lift the ban on pistol grip rifles as they are too deadly. The Mini-14 won't hurt a fly.

  • I didn't buy for an investment, altought they are. I am actually a match shooter, I was just wondering if peole are going to sell their A2's, Polytechs, Norinco's, ect. I still have my pre-64's which will never go, or my match rifles. I am personally looking forward to a AR-10 Carbine version for a K or so, always wanted a SR-25 carbine, one of the 100 or so made. But 6-7k I'll stick with .223

P.S. If you know what a HAC-7 is and know of one for sell let me know.
