Questions on a silver dollar

Could anyone tell me what this coin would grade and how much it may be worth.
Thanks,
Bob

  • Do you have a picture of the reverse? We need both sides of the coin to see the mintmark and the condition to give it a grade.

Tough to say from a picture, and only one side. For what it's worth, looks MS62 to me. What mint? $25-33 or so, much more if it's a 98-S.

Can't give a grade without the reverse picture. By itself, I'd give the obverse a strong 62, maybe 63.

MS62... if the reverse were really nice, then maybe it could go 63, but the obverse seems quite baggy, and the fingerprint on the reverse does nothing good for the grade. As was said, a $25-$30 coin or so.

Could we have more opinions on the grade? The blemishes on the obverse seem shallow, at least based on the photo, so I would not really describe the coin as baggy. Very hard to say from the image, but it seems more luster than bagmarks that is keeping the coin from a higher grade.

    I'll say MS-63, value $35 tops. image

  • I've run into a few mail order coin dealers who would go so far as to classify this as an MS64, but it really is only a 62 by market standards.

Looks like a 64, but I would like to see a better pic of the obverse.
