Why are they closing the National Coin Collection?

Nope. It's all part of an over all effort to reorganize and modernize the Smithsonian. They got a lot of grief from a group of people who determined that the layout of the museum was not that great. Supposedly parts of the national collection will intergrated into other exhibits.
