Are coin collectors the cheapest bustards on the planet?

I am using NGC ....cardboard....shippin boxes to store slabs in da safe.
At the shop, we used to get coins ....doubled up.....in 2x2's.
2x2's so old that the staples had rusted.
people looking for used Capital holders.
Used albums.
I still get mail from collectors on the OTHER side of something else.

The coin holders seem to be going up in price everyweek.
I remember blowing over $100 for some eagle pages and binders a while back for slabs.
But the 2x2 album pages keep getting crummier and cheaper every year.
This last batch I bought are crap. The pockets split and fall apart just putting coins in the slots.
I have been switching out the crummy vinyl flips for the better non-vinyl ones. I think
dealers you buy coins from must have millions of vinyl flips to use up. As that is all they seem
to use; Even though there is the PVC hazard.

Heh, I don't (and do not intend to) get a digital camera. It's not too cheap to spend the money though. When I started on this board many people were scanning a couple years ago. It took me a whole lot of time to learn how to scan, upload, etc etc. I just don't care to spend the time (or have the time) to start learning a digital camera and all the frustrations. I admit I would like to show some of my coins justice, but the way I do it will have to do. Also, space is an issue for me, with all the set-up equipment and such.

Or guys that buy a $500 coin and won't spend $10 to ship and insure it properly.
<< <i>Please tell me, how is shipping an item insured first class "not shipping properly". I told you before, you are wasting money paying priority postage. >>
The problem is that at my P.O., they won't *let* you ship first class with delivery confirmation with an envelope less than 3/4 inch thick. They require we use Priority for that, which to me is a racket that has no legitimate purpose other than to force people to ship via Priority and pay $3 more than they need to.

I already explained this in another thread. All you need to do is to either buy 1" bubble bubble wrap, or buy your own boxes. The mailer only has to be 3/4" thick at some point, not the entire package.
Btw, I heard something about Heritage giving away free ANA memberships for good customers - very classy, but NOT something that a collector should expect, much less complain about.

GSA guy and TBT have purchased hamburgers for me. No fries or drinks but they did bring ketchup.

Those who will request bid/ask prices for twenty different dates, and expect another forum member to do all that typing rather than just going to the CDN website and paying $3.99 for the current greysheet.

I thought your statement about buying used Capital Boards was interesting. I know I do it, Beacuse I AM cheap, and yes those borads are exspensive new. But I also happen to prefer the older style capital boards. The ones that are designed to fit in a safety deposit box are a great idea, but they look weird to me. Remember, you need 4 boards to do a Morgan set....@ $65 each.
