Were these type holders even made in 1963?

Anyone know? Looks like a Whitman 2X2 hard plastic.

    The coin was "holdered" in 1964 per the auction description and picture. The coin is 1940.

    Those Whitman holders were quite common in that time frame.

    My recollection is that the hard plastic Whitman holders like the one shown were introduced in 1964. The item looks legit to me and is quite interesting.

    Yes, those Whitman holders were around in the early 1960s. I tend to agree that this looks like too much work to be hoax although I’ve never seen an item like this before.
