Buttaface coin thread... Post your best looking coin worth less than $20

I had to put a yard around my new home. That puts the coin buying frenzy on hold for a while. However, I need something to image or I'll go nuts, so I pick up a buttaface or two (great looking coins that's are as common as dirt) now and then.

Don't worry, I'm just about ready to start purchasing the "super-models" of coins again (you know the PR67 DCAM Seated Libertys, PR66 DCAM Morgans, awesome toned MS Barber quarters and stuff like that). image

So, post your best coin worth under $20. Think your's can make the Buttaface challenge?

Here's mine, a super crusty wild colored 1938-D/S VF or so Buffalo nickel worth the astonomical price of $15!!!!

Think yours can beat this one? Come on! I dare ya!

The coin cost me $1.50 and $7.00 (at the time) to grade/holder it:
(It's still one of my favorites for what it is and for what it isn't.)

How'd you get that one for less than melt?

    That is pretty cool!
  • Well - like you guys, I have things I have to address - like being out of work for a little while, having kids going to college, and still keeping up with the bills - however I also have to address the insatiable need to try to take really cool pictures of nice coins, so my answer has been to hunt down as many beautifully toned Roosevelt sets as I can get my hands on, and try to build an immaculate high grade, high luster/tone set of these little gems. Every once in a while you'll find one such as this one pictured here. I fully expect this coin to come back either a 66* or a 67* with an FT designation - and it's one of the most beautiful toned coins I've ever seen. Cost of the coin? $2.50 - Grading: $11 - total cost $13.50 - Potential pleasure gained - immesurable image

I paid $25 for this. So to get this into the thread I will have to admit I overpaid.image No wait, even better I'll use the shop at home tactic and say it came in a Capitol Plastics Holder worth $10 so the coin only cost $15.image Anyway, the scan doesn't do it justice, it is a cool commem.

Worth less, or paid less ?

I paid less than $20. for quite a few I still have, but fewwer and fewwer are still worth less than that ... of course I bought them a long time ago. Don't have many pictures of these, but here's one of a nice 88 Indian. Notes say I paid 10. a few years back.
