Anyone know the final mintage on 2003 First Flight gold $10 coins?

Does anyone know how many 2003 First Flight gold $10 coins (uncirculated) were finally minted?
Sales ended on July 31, 2004.
The last report I got (in early July) there were only 9,386 sold.
This may be one of the rarest modern commemoratives made???
Thanks...

  • Thanks Fats...

Would that make it one the top 5 rarest modern commems?
  • Maybe my son will (financially) appreciate that I bought him a set of these when he's older...

There are a couple lower mintage gold commems in the moderns.

    Jackie Robinson MS

    2002 Olympics MS

2000 Bi-metalic Lib of Congress MS

    Smithsonian (?) MS

just off the top of my head.

Actually 10K for a gold is not as low as it sounds. There are a number of them in that range.

Mintage for the silver BU seems about mid-range for the series, too. I'm happy enough to see that, since the BU silver is usually what I buy (and did in this case). Seems like the smallest downside risk.
