It would take a while, but I'd find the right pieces eventually. It all depends upon you are willing to spend. It take deep pockets to collect early U.S. gold. And if you are looking for high grades or scarace dates or types, the coins don't even have to be THAT nice to bring big bucks.
I love early gold. As a collector I wish that I could afford more of it.
Saintguru....... I would only recommend auctions if you are going to be there for the auction, or have someone there with experience that you trust, if you're going to be bidding online.... JMHO

Agree 100% with Puff (as usual ). Buying coins sight unseen at auction is frought with peril. I know I have been burned in the past and will no longer do it.
