Would you buy this for $570?

Considering doing the Buy it Now, seems like a good deal at half list price, but i thought i'd get some opinions from more knowledgable people first..

Wait...didn't we go through this a few months ago?
  • PCGS price is wrong. These sell for under $20 each on ebay. yes we went through this before.

    Yes, I remember now...

Why are you asking us? You'd probably be in a better position to answer this question having already gone through it. How did the last deal work out for you?

  • Bensons seem to be all over the place, thats true
  • Why are you asking the same question again? How did the first batch sell for you?

  • made about 200 bucks, but that was back before the 'flood' of benson's
  • I am glad you made $200 but I don't believe it. Why might you ask?

    1. May 10th wasn't that long ago. Benson coins were everywhere then also as you can see by the replies in the linked thread.
    2. Who in their right mind would ask for opinions on a lot that they bought 2 1/2 months ago and made an easy $200 on? Only an idiot would post asking for opinions YET AGAIN and not buy it now and make another $200.

Supply and demand should dictate your decision. Based on your statement, Benson's are flooding the market.

When their is greater supply, equals less demand. Thus the current lot is worth less then the $570 you originally paid, because of increased supply.

  • GEEZ Cameron !! Fall outta bed this morning and hit your head ?!?

Calm down dude. He's just asking a simple question. No need to get into name calling.
  • Its true and you gotta admit it. I didn't call him any names I only said "only an idiot would....".

Would you post asking for advice after you made $200 on the last deal? NO. You would buy it or pass based on what you wanted to buy/how much money you have but not ask for opinions again.

  • Ok Cameron, ............... calm down. It's not worth getting all worked up over.

I just didn't see how your response was any help to someone asking a question. All you did was basically call him an idiot and give him the impression that his post was rediculous because it had been gone over once before.

Where did you sell all these coins? Not on eBay I guess, unless you have another eBay ID.

    Cameron,

Just because you did a deal a month ago, things change. When dealing with a marketplace, you have different variables which affect the pending outcome.

Perhaps the seller did well last time on the deal. Thought the advice he received last time was valuable. So he then sought out this groups opinion before he jumped the gun. What is wrong with that.

Could someone jump on the item and buy it now before him? Yes, absolutely. However, he stated Benson's are flooding the marketplace. So he should be able to find a similiar basket of coins for a similiar price, due to increased supply.

If you felt he was wasting your time, then why did you reply in the first place?
If I say something in the woods, and my wife isn't around. Am I still wrong?
  • I never said he was wasting my time.

Bensons have been flooding the marketplace for many months and are not a new occurance.

  • you'll lose your shirt. the $59 is the PCGS PRICE which is high by about 30-40%, $15 per coin is a good price, anything more and you'll have a tax-wriute-off if buying for resale. put me down for one at $15 delivered.

"Would you buy this for $570?"

Nope, Benson pedigree is worthless, and common-date non-FBL Mercs are not worth much in grades lower than 67.

  • I would be careful bidding more than 300.00 for this lot.
I suspect they are all the really common run of the mill dates.
Now if they were ms67 or ms68, then you are talking about something.

  • I wouldn't go for it.

  • I must admit I'm with Cameron on this one. Looks like the only person with real world experience buying and selling these is asking the question again. Why?

If you simply want to know whether Bensons are flooding the market, which they seem to be, ask that.

  • Current "blue sheet" on these coins are $16.00 in PCGS ms66, and $25.00 in PCGS ms67......... Not a very wise move in my opinion to pay more than $15.00 each for the lot as tgilliams said.

Now if they were full bands 8K each would be a fantastic price!!!!!image
