Tricky slabs

I feel sorry for the people bidding on this coin. Look at the name of the company PGSGrading. It's sad that the seller does his best to confuse the buyer by talking about PCGS in his auction.

PGS = "Professional Grading Service." They dropped the word "Coin" all together. With good reason, as "PGS" must professionally grade Beanie Babies or something else. image

Love how he quotes the PCGS pop report and priceguide. Sooo typical.

Hmm... if it's a Pop 4 with PCGS, I wonder what its "PGS" population is? image

Warning, incoming clue. I don't collect them minted after 1970.

Ebay should do something about sellers quoting the PCGS price guide and population figures in auctions for non PCGS coins. Of course he's a power seller so ebay won't do anything.

I just asked the seller this question:

I was wondering if you could tell me what the population and value are for 2000-S Silver Kennedy's graded PGS PR70. I would like to get an idea what the true value is before I bid.

    Thanks

  • Dennis: Why should he care? I just looked at it & he's got 6 bids for $91.00 & that will
probably go higher. 90+ for that crap.

I know. I don't expect a reply. It just gets my dander up. It's stuff like this that will lead to ebays eventual downfall.

I'm not sure but I think PGS was a card grading service that has recently gotten into the grading of coins as well.
  • Hold on guys, opportunity knocking. I have some MS70 pocket change to sell to kenmaria. I hope they bought it on a goof.
