buying and selling silver bullion is a purely speculative game. the buyers as well as the sellers are all out to get the best they can get which explains your range vs. the current spot price. also, it would seem that those dealers willing to pay stronger probably have a market while those at a lower price probably don't and there reluctance to tie up cash was reflected in the low buy/sell-------maybe. they could also be cheapskates or shrewd businessmen, like those only pop-up in the real world as coin dealers!!!
i would also suugest that when you began to question the one guy's price with the eBay comparison you were no longer just asking for a price, you had entered into the negotiating phase of a transaction with someone you were unfamiliar with, and vice versa. to that end, his response was justified though probably unnecessary. had he told you "Good day" and hung up the phone you would have no ground to stand on.

Yes I find a 4 week shipping delay acceptable considering the silver is coming from Hawaii and the fact he wants to use the least expensive way to ship. If it got here sooner, it would just be sitting in my safe anyway. He has ample positive feedback from people who say he's a slow shipper, but they are always happy with the product.

It's a hunk of metal. What does being happy have to do with it? You either get the hunk of metal that you wanted, or you didn't. Or, does one hunk of metal have more eye appeal than another? And, is that really the issue?
