Went to a coin shop today....

Never went to this one, tough it's only 12 miles away. Didn't bought a lot, only an uncirculated Ike (1971) and a Sac (2000P). The also had some circulated Morgan and Peace dollars, but heavily overpriced. They were asking over 15 euro ($19) for a circulated 1881-S morgan dollar. It was graded EF, but IMHO it was closer to a VF-20.

Are there any varieties known for the 1971???

Cool! A coin shop in The Netherlands! With the prices that they are charging for the 81-S Morgan, you could make some money by selling them U.S. coins. How's their European coin selection? Ancients? Currency?

The prices they charge has nothing to do with their buying prices. They might be as low as any other dealer.

Well the only thing I looked besides the US coins they had were the more expensive coins from the Netherlands. They had one "early" gold piece (1826, 565 euro) and a 3 guilder piece (don't remember the date for 2250 euro). Also some more common gold coins and silver coins.

The coin shop near me sells raw morgans in G to VG condition for 9 bucks. The nicer ones are only ten dollars more and are alot better. Mostly AU- MS

They also had some kennedy's from the 60's for 2.5 euro each.... ($3)...
