My 17-year old nephew was just walking out the door a few seconds ago, when he stopped and said "Oh wait, I want to show you something..."
He returned from his car with this:
It's just a cardboard sampler of Roosevelt, printed in 1974. 28 dimes total, 19 silver. One of each year, from 1946 on, with the newest being a 1973. Mixed circulated but mostly F to VF+. His dad or granddad gave it to him years ago and it was in a closet for 3 or 4 years (his dad made him move his stuff since he's moving to a new apartment).
The silver dimes are blazing toners. Rainbow colors. Deep greens, cobalt, some amazing bright oranges. A few are genuinely rainbow colored from rim to center.
He is a novice collector, and wasn't aware of the current toning craze. I told him there was a possibility that these might have a premium if he wanted to sell.
They are held in place in front with scotch tape and in back with masking tape. Both peel off very easily, and leave no trace of the tape other than a track of slightly lessened color where the tape's border was. Even the edges on the three or four dimes we freed are toned!
I'm not a fan of toning at all, but I know lots of forum members are and I figured I'd take a few shots to see if there was any interest. He asked if I'd put them up on eBay for him, but I told him I'd check here first for opinions and to see if anyone has a generous offer for a 17-year old numi.
My camera sucks, but what do you think? Would they be AT? Crap toning? Great toning? Any chance for a premium if he sells 'em? Lemme know what you think!

We are like children who look at print and see a serpent in the last letter but one, and a sword in the last.
