Why you can't trust those Heritage Images...

Picked this up resently in auction. Paid more than I wanted but sure was pleased when it arrived. The first image is from Heritage, the second one is my quick scan. It's just a tad brighter than the coin but not much. And, the colors are all there. I love getting surprises from Heritage.

Twenty Mercs should be here tomorrow. Big suprise day I hope.

Thanks to each of you. This has got to be the third or forth coin I've got from an Heritage auction where the coin was sooooo much better than their image. More Heritage for me.

I still think the bottom photo has too much contrast.

<< <i>I preferred to keep this a secret! Now you and I will both pay more for our toned coin purchases at Heritage! Thanks a lot! >>
No problem. Most folks will see the photo's and say No Way. Of course the loyal followers will keep bidding on the bad looking coins.
JOM if you jump back in here I am still trying to get a real good photo of the 26D. Man thats a tough coin to photograph.

Very nice coin!
Either way -very pretty!

<< <i>Jim - gorgeous coin! Did they not give that coin FB designation? >>
Frank,
No FB designation on the coin. I don't think it would make it (but, I'm no expert) since the bands don't appear to be fully separated.

jom,
I scanned the coin and made no corrections what-so-ever...other than angled it slightly. We'll faught the scanner.
TO ALL,
Thanks for the nice comments. I was surprised on it's arrival. I've found (from coins I've purchased) Heritage takes their images from stright on and that does not always reflect the color on some coins.
