They've also got a $75,000 lot consisting of four Franklin Half Dollars. There are so many insanely ridiculous statements in the description that the mind wobbles.
But what's even more amazing is that the same person is bidding on both auctions, and currently willing to spend at least $630 for about $30-$35 worth of junk silver.
I'm so mean. So very very mean and I should be ashamed of myself, but I couldn't help sending the seller this email:
<<I'm VERY interested in this lot. However, in my experience, when someone says that an item is worth $70,000, it's probably worth at most $40,000. If you offer some kind of financing plan, I would be interested in bidding on these great coins. I can offer a $10,000 down payment if we can finance the balance for 24 months with 0% interest. If my estimate of the final value of the auction is right, that means I will send you a $10,000 down payment and finance the balance ($30,000 or so) over 24 months. Would that work? Only one thing: on such a valuable lot, could you take some additional photos? It may just be my computer, but the ones in your auction are pretty blurry.>>
I heard they were making a French version of Medal of Honor. I wonder how many hotkeys it'll have for "surrender."

<< <i>tonywait is the best. I have him on my favorite sellers list so I don't miss crap like this! >>
With all due respect to anyone named Tony here...there must be something in that name, at least where eBay IDs are concerned. One seller with "tony" in the name overhypes coins and gets $455 for what is mostly like junk worth $50, if that...and another seller with "tony" in the name keeps selling one fake Seated or Trade Dollar after another.

I also love to go through rolls to find coins.

<< <i>Those coins are SOOOOOO whizzed, they don't even have to be in focus. >>
I thought this seller's Frankies (another eBay item) looked whizzed too.

my opinion anyway ...
“We are only their care-takers,” he posed, “if we take good care of them, then centuries from now they may still be here … ”
