During every one of my forays through the e-bay auctions I am always amazed at the out and out lies that some sellers use.
"$79,000.00" value!!! But it now for $300.00!!!!
All these sellers are very quick to quote the PCGS price guide but you have to really strain yourself to realize that the coin(s) is graded by Old Mother Hubbard's Grading Service. It makes me want to scream!!!!!!! I don't know how everyone else feels about these "dealers" or "sellers" but to me they are borderline fraud artists.
There, now I fell better

Good guys sellin' good coins...
The e-mail I sent one seller
I could not read this auction without commenting on your absolutely disgraceful method of using the PCGS prices to sell coin "graded" at some 5th tier service. I guess anyway to make a dollar.........
Anyone for a decaf latte??????
I know I'm a bit dense but what does that list mean??
<< <i>I know I'm a bit dense but what does that list mean?? >>
The list is forum members and their ebay handles.
Here is some applicable language which sellers are supposed to abide by, based on Ebay's new cooperative efforts with the ANA :
"Sellers agree not to knowingly participate in any way in the advertisement, sale or trade of any numismatic material using any deceptive practices including, but not limited to, false or misleading claims of sales scarcity, value, condition or investment potential."
I know its a rant but I also know some newbie collectors or those that don't have the benefit of the knowledge you guys have will get taken to the cleaners.
How about something more cheery????
Hi to all my American friends from Toronto. I have learned so much in the last few months from you lugs....Thanks
Maybe I should take the advice that I gave out here instead of calling the seller and reading him the riot act.

That's an outdated list.
The page has been updated and moved here --> Forum Members eBay Listings
Like Fatman said, it's a list of forum members who also sell on ebay- a lot of people around here feel more comfortable buying coins on ebay when they know the person selling them is also a familier face around here. And what large-volume-vendor on ebay has gotten you so irritated??
CHRISTMAS in July ???? Feliz Navidad ... Joyeux Noel … Buon Natale …
Anyone who bids on this auction must be an Idiot !!!! That’s right, If your known to have a screw loose … If your known to be a couple cards shy of a full deck … This auction is for going to be for you !!! No SANE person would bid on this coin …
As this particular coin was cosigned to me from a very, very old Estate Sale from a galaxy far, far away … I can not offer a money back guarantee … This auction is an “as is” auction … Because anyone who bids on this auction must be mentally challenged I have to keep their identities unknown so I am having a private auction …
Heritage, in their July 21, 2004 auction they had 2 fine specimens of SVDB’s up for auction with a grade of MS64RD. They brought $3,335 & $3,795 respectfully. Of course Heritage charges a 15% BP which of course I don’t want from you. I don’t know but, I must be tired … Must be getting old … I am going to be literally giving this coin away … My BIN price is 16% & 26% below what you would pay Heritage !!! On the later coin that’s a SAVINGS of $995 … Who’s got a screw loose now ??? Since I’m feeling charitable, I’ll even sweeten the pot. Should you use the BIN feature I’ll throw in the Shipping, Handling & Insurance. That’s right, a $25 value, making your savings in excess of $1,000 … What !! You want more ??? OK, If you use the BIN I’ll also add an Uncirculated, 1901, Liberty Head $10 gold piece …. $1,000 cash money savings & a $10 gold piece ??? Plus the SVDB … Just for using the BIN … Who’s mentally challenged now ??? What would you do with an extra $1,000 ???? Might I suggest you take a small portion and get me a Birthday present in appreciation … that would be nice .. Give the $10 gold piece to your wife, girl friend or your young numismatist at home. You’ll be looked upon like a hero … Only you will know it didn’t cost you anything .. it was a free gift …
This coin is graded by the highly talked about, on most message boards, PCI grading service. Ever wonder why Heritage doesn’t, at least I’ve never seen one, list PCI coins for auction ?? Well, let me tell you that the people in the know, know why .. Don’t we !! wink, wink …
This coin is, in my opinion, graded very conservatively .. I say it’s a MS64RD PQ+++ … In my, I don’t know what I’m talking about, hyping the coin opinion, think it could approach MS67RD status. I think if broken out and sent into the right grading company you could do it. I would have done it but, I like you … That’s just more money I left on the table for you to take advantage of … You can tell I’m not a dealer … If I was I’d probably be broke by now giving away coins like this.
OK, You people that have more money than brains .. I want you to not bid on the holder .. I don’t want you to bid on the coin either .. I just want you to Bid, Bid & Bid. That’s it .. If you’ve read this far just scroll on down a little more and bid … Bid high .. Bid often ...
When we are planning for posterity, we ought to remember that virtue is not hereditary.

the highly respected tandem of PCI and Coinmovers !
