Observations on Trading at the Bessemer Bourse

As has been the trend in the past few months this year. Key date coins have been trading at very strong levels and with ease. Morgans and Gold continue to be hot items with bullion trading surprisingly briskly. Advise from one major trader on the bourse was that if you were holding on to something worthwhile for collectability sake that was fine, but if you were thinking that you might make a few extra dollars by hanging onto coins, you might very well find yourself taking a bath - quick turnover seems to be the call of the day - get it now - turn it over if you can make even a modest profit.
I did not see as many board friends as I had in previous years - FiveCents, Dahlonega, Tassa, and FatMan were there and we enjoyed eachother's company as always. For you Merc fans, wait till tomorrow, when we take a picture of Tassa's 1945S MS67FB monster that she found. Unbelievable colors! - But you'll have to wait as I forgot my camera today

Pete Dodge who runs www.coinbidders.com is a nice guy and lives just down the street from me.
The second is B.J. Brady who sells alot of type coins and also some knives. They usually set up next to each other.
They both are honest dealers who have given me alot of good advice in my 6-month foray into collecting.
Frank: Are you going to be at the Dalton,Ga show next month? I enjoyed meeting you, CC and Tassa at the April show.
It was also a pleasure to see Tassa and FiveCents. Tassa's 45-S FB Merc is a beauty. I can already hear the oohhhhs and ahhhhhhs from the Merc guys from when the pic is posted.
And of course our good friend Dahlonega was there with his little bag of surprises. He got my D Mint juices flowing by sharing with me the second finest known 1839-D Quarter Eagle in MS63. What a coin. Also a 1838-D Half Eagle in MS61. Not too shabby in its own right.
I went with the intent of picking up a commem or two but only found one I was interested in but the asking price was a little too strong. Had a great time and look forward to seeing our forum friends at Dalton.
