Wildlife biology was my passion in high school. But I settled for a finance/economics degree. If I knew then what I know now I would have moved to Alaska after high school.

It's intresting reading this thread as thier are a lot of folks here with higher levels of education including several doctorates which typically equates to higer incomes, however, it does not necessarily mean that they have a larger amount of disposable income to spend on coins. Thier are two posters in this thread who actually are on the lower end of the educational scale that could practically buy everyone else on here out easily.
I am 14 yr old, have 8 different PHD's, and am a Nuclear Scientist. Now: How is this thread related to numismatics, why are you asking this question, and what do you plan on doing with the information?

Ok, I see many here specializing in computer science. If I may ask, just how wide open is this field of study in the coming years and how well does it pay? My son is in his 3rd year of computer science but lately he has been suggesting a career change to Law Enforcement.

The more qualities observed in a coin, the more desirable that coin becomes!
I too use a slit lamp to look at coins. It's a great tool for looking at steps on Jeffersons. I have a YAG Laser in my office which removes any part of a carbon spot above the level of the coin's surface (even through the slab).
