These mist covered mountains are a home for me now But my home is the lowlands And always will be Some day you'll return to Your valley and your farms And you'll no longer burn To be brothers in arms
Through these fields of destruction Babtisms of fire I've watched all you suffering As the battles raged higher And though they did hurt me so bad In the fear and alarm You did not desert me My brothers in arms
There's so many different worlds So many different suns And we have just one world But we live in different ones
Now the sun's gone to hell And the moon's riding high Let me bid you farewell Every man has to die But it's written in the starlight and every line of your palm We're fools to make war On our brothers in arms. Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits) - Brothers in Arms 1985
How many harvard mba's do you know that speak like Bush??
I'm going to take a guess and say that if W wasn't a part of the bush family he: a) wouldn't have gotten into harvard and b) wouldn't have gotten out of harvard with a degree
Money can buy most things. Like degrees.
My style is impetuous, my defense is impregnable !
You mean like an average joe speaks? I guess you miss the hero of the left, slick willy, with his ability to lie so eloquently.
Well actually, I think that W speaks more poorly than an average joe. And, no, I don't miss "slick willy" all that much. I think all politicians, especially career politicians at the top o' the heap, lie eloquently. That's their job, and they have professional speech writers to help them lie better. Honesty doesn't win any political battles (at least in this country- can't speak for others). I do miss Willie in one way- in that my personal preference with ethics being equal is that I'd rather have a bright guy in charge rather than a dim-witted guy.

Sluck Willie may have got good grades in school, but he habitually surrounded himself with inept people in order for himself to remain the star of the show.

Edit: OMG how could I leave off Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders!!!!
I tend to judge a man by what he does, not what he professes to believe or how he talks.
...and this goes a hundred times over for politicians and leaders. One doesn't become pres- ident by being dim witted or allowing others to do their thinking.

I apologize to everyone for my participation in this ridiculous thread. It barely is even worthy of the open forum.
<< <i>I'd rather have a bright guy in charge rather than a dim-witted guy. >>
A Harvard MBA who was elected President of the USA. Yeah, he's real "dim-witted". Edison was also a pretty lousy communicator. Was he "dim-witted"? The assertion that because President Bush isn't slick in the way he talks he is somehow stupid is laughable and pathetic - not to mention over-used, hackneyed and yesterday's lame attempt at discrediting him. Try another, less stale, tact.
Whoever believes that W is qualified for the job of president is not going to get me into a heated debate- I certainly don't think that I would be able to change anybody's opinions about that topic. I don't believe he is qualified in any way, but I appreciate everyone else's viewpoints.....

Funny how someone has to actually copy and print a definition from an online dictionary for this ideology.
it was/is about some guy looking for two dollar bills . nobody wants them if handed out when someone cashes a check . so give some guy a handful of deuces . it doesnt take a board meeting , don't need a head teller to clear with , no need for a branch manager to look concerned and give some guy the once over . you have none ? no problem ,thank you . Oh , got 24 deuces ? here's $48 in ones ,fives, and tens . thank you . it does not cost the bank for a one minute exchange , and they get rid of unwanted denominations . it's a simple process that has elevated to unneccesary proportions . go stalk/track real problem people , and leave the dumbfounded citizen alone ! ps. may my state be red this year
This thread is funny. To regergitate the liberal speak from the media does not make one a free thinker. Let's see.

He's also racist - just ask Colin Powell and Condoleeza Rice.
So what? Sluck Willie wasn't qualified. AlGore wasn't qualified either. John Kerry isn't qualified.
I'm confused about this thread
Is it about critical thinking skills and analytical science versus religious dogma, or is it about left wing pinko’s versus right wing war mongers?
I thought it was about a guy trying to exchange some currency at a bank.
Oh well, I guess everybody has their own agenda – and everybody thinks only theirs is correct one.
