As a dealer /serious collector do you attend shows armed or do you care?

I recently passed my Florida CCW course and have filed and mailed away for the permit. As serious dealers/collectors, do you care whether a bourse or show promoter allows concealed carry weapons, assuming of couse that the state is not a state that is part of UN sponsored global bolshevism and is a state that allows CCW and has full reciprocity with your state of issue.
I would personally never patronize a show that did not allow law obiding and responsible, fully licensed, dealers and collectors to carry thousands of dollars worth of coins with no protection. Its absurd, even if the collector has only $100 worth of coins on him, its a second ammendment issue. Why would a bouse promoter not allow it, unless he was just a liberal bolshevik who only cared about liability and not cared about a citizens right to self protection. It certainly boggles the mind, considering there are alot of criminals who would stalk dealers and collectors and possibly hold them up in restrooms, or in parking lots, or even follow them out and drive after them , after the show is over. It makes no sense to go to a show unarmed.

Taurus P132 .32ACP.

way they conduct themselves with coins. Hope the coin show will have plenty medics on hand.

If they know that you have valuables on you, then you make a perfect target, in alot of cases they do their holdups in parking lots or they follow the dealer/collector to the first place he fills up for gas and then hold them up.
Carrying a gun has too many risks, and most of the outcomes are going to be NOT your favor IMO.
The one thing that really P-Os me are these Bozos at the X-ray machine at the airport that have to yell, “He’s got coins!” at the top of their lungs. You might as well pin a sign on my back that says, “Come knock me in the head and take my bag!” If I had my way x-ray people who do that should be fired on the spot.
How likely is that? Better to carry a gun and shoot 'em on the spot.

TSA employees are cranially challenged., especially at airports.
I don't think it was the first time he said that, that day.
P.S. Not trying to start anything but a taurus is a peice of crap but even worse is the.32 acp caliber, that isn't rally going to stop anything, may I suggest a glock 29 in 10mm or if you don't like paying a ton for ammo how about a mid-size glock 19, or if you like taurus, buy a beretta model 84 b in .380, after all taurus buys all of berettas old machinery. MELON LABE!
You would think that TSA employees would be properly trained, considering the 9/11 the surcharges we pay on each ticket.
I have the Glock17, I alternate with the Taurus for the primary CCW.
anyone can get a Concealed permit here in Indiana

The real world facts demonstrate otherwise.
<< <i>The constitution when written gave the right to bear arms to a well regulated militia. >>
When written the term "well regulated" did not have anything to do with rules and regulations, and the militia consisted of every adult male absent a criminal record.

It's expensive, but worth it.
sigs are great, but I prefer the Walther PPK or P99 for that kind of money.
I am glad you made it ok and were not seriously injured or prosecuted. I hope those who held you up are dead.

Those are nice guns, but I'm not a fan of the smaller calibers. A .45 ACP is like getting hit by a truck.

I once thought that as well, but converted. I prefer the Glock over other brands of plastic fantastics. The HK USP series has a few inherent design flaws and S&W doesn't make an autoloader that can shoot straight.

Absolutely not. NEVER reveal you are armed unless situations demand it.

But carry it around inside a show? That's a bit too much IMHO.

I carry a "_____" graded coin and when I tell them this is what I have in stock, the thief says, that crap ain't worth going to prison for and runs
FYI:
In Florida you do not need to have a permit to have a firearm in your car glove box, but you do need one to have a firearm concealed on your body.
One has to consider, however, whether the actual use of the guns would have been wise. It is highly likely that, if charged with any gun related offense, valid or not, their legal fees would have exceeded the value of any inventory they would have lost. (Remember, this is a local bourse, not an ANA).
So far as the second amendment goes, it reads as follows:
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
There is no question that present day interpretations of this amendment do not reflect its original intent since it refers specifically to a Militia (note the capitalization). The only thing we ever hear about today, from the gun lobby types, is the last part of the amendment "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
I'm just mentioning this out as a matter of information. I don't have particularly strong feelings on this issue. If we simply enforced existing gun laws we would cut down on problems.
As for the second part of your post, well, I would obviously dissagree.
<< <i>The first part of your story clearly demonstrates how powerful a deterrent brandishing a firearm is, and in that case it was obviously lawful.

Disagree with what?
I am refering to your interpretation of the 2nd ammendment, mine is obviously much different.
,but this thread is not a 2nd ammendment debate, but rather a personal protection discussion.
I couldn't agree more.
FOR SALE Items
I agree with you, but would rather not take the chance. Several 1911 subcompacts .45ACP's should do the job. One in your glovebox and one in an ankle holster.
