Hmm the image doesn't seem all that sharp to me... or maybe I need glasses or something.

You are right DH. I am having a hell of a time getting the Camera to focus on this coin. The front of the lens is about a foot away from the coin and if the camera is not level is does not focus sharply on the whole coin. I am getting a better copy stand next week hopefully that will fix this problem.

No wonder I just calculated the DOF. Using F8.0 with a 100mm macro lens I only have 3 mms ( about 1/8 inch ) of in focus area. Using F4.0 I get half that.

Sounds like a pretty low DOF at ƒ8. How 'bout you give it another 'shot'?
