But to your original question, where is the braking point at ? , how can i tell if it dcam from cameo.??, others can tell you better than I because I have wondered that myself.
I know it has to do with reflectivity of the fields along with a 'frosted' device. The fields have to reflect light at a certain distance....11" or 13"....something like that.
Now that I've made an ass out of myself trying to explain, maybe someone that really knows what they're talking about can explain.

Over time, you will be able to develop an eye for the break point. It is difficult, if not impossible, to put in words. Even lots of photos will not be able to clearly define the point for you. My advice is to keep examples of cameo and ultracameo coins on hand as reference pieces. Even with experience, it is not a precise bread point - especially with nickels.
