I am not up to date on varieties or if they are collected on Jeffersons, but I have this '43-S with a big old die crack in the dome, It runs down toward the letter "C" from the dome. Is this a common break.

That's a fairly common die break in the Jefferson series. These can add character to any coin but are not generally sought after. Looks like a nice coin.

I have heard of these being called "flagpole" Jeffs if the break extends to the mint mark.
  • I think those are also called the $ (dollar sign) die crack...

Thanks, This break runs just to the edge of the bottom of the dome ,,so it must be very early on in the break process.
