FINALLY!!!... All numismatic reports to Ebay will now be forwarded to the ANA Coin Watchers Group

Hi,

Here ya go guys... let's start making some noise!

Spanky

SOLUTION: As I mentioned in my other email to you, anyone can send a report to eBay about violating Coins listings. You should direct users to http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/selling-coins.html where they should scroll to BOTTOM of page, and click on Report listing violations or problems with another eBay member.

That brings you to this webform, which they should complete and send to eBay:
All numismatic reports to Ebay will now be forwarded to the ANA Coin Watchers Group, if that group agrees with your observations, the auction will be removed. If the seller continues to violate Ebay Policy, the seller may be blocked from selling on Ebay.

  • Has anyone noticed any change in the way Coinmovers describes their coins on eBay yet?

  • This is a good extra level of protection for eBay. Nice going. It will probably work if this group is willing to take the time to handle issues and not get burned out and quit. I assume this job is volunteer? If so, it may not last.

Check out a Vanguard Roth IRA.
  • Nope... Here you see a 1964 Lincoln Cent that is somehow worth $54,000:

Coinmovers will be a very real test to determine just how serious eBay is about cleaning up the scams. If they actually move on a Platimum Power Screwer, then I'll believe it.

I think we'll just have to wait and see. But, I think there's only one way this thing can go: the enforcement can only get better. It can't possibly get any worse.
  • Pam Donnelly, pjd1966, she is by far the ABSOLUTE worse of the worse. Here is one of her many blatantly obvious counterfeits:

    counterfeits

All of Pam’s auctions claim to be from a Savannah Estate, she uses the words “looks all good to me” as her disclaimer. All her auctions are “private” as well… (Are you noticing a trend here?… scam auction = privet auction.)

Her feedback is riddled with reports of counterfeits, reproductions, and copies. She uses outrageously & devastatingly nasty retaliatory negative feedback to attack the scammed bidder and drive them into submission.

Retaliatory negative explained: The bidder states “she sold me a counterfeit coin and won’t return my money”… then Pam responds, in caps: “BEWARE OF THIS BIDDER NOTHING BUT TROUBLE” then follows up with “BLOCK THIS NEWBIES BIDS, AVOID HIM LIKE THE BLACK DEATH”… Pam’s feedback falls from 98.3% to 98.2%, however; the bidders feedback (because they have far fewer transactions) falls from 100% positive to 62%. Ebay then ignores the report of a counterfeit coin and allows the feedback to be mutually withdrawn.

Here is another of Pam Donnelly’s (Ebay ID pjd1966) most recent blatant counterfeits, this one sold for over $80.00:

This 1776 silver coin, from Pam, is counterfeit
One of Pam's fake 1700's coins

Just compare it to a real one sold by an honest dealer “Treasures of Maryland”

Interesting.... I wonder how many complaints need to be logged before a seller is legitimately threatened- has anybody logged in complaints towards coinmovahs or anybody else?

I'd urge those of you who really care about this stuff to start sending reports/complaints to Ebay. Heck, I urge those of you who don't care, to do the same - thanks.image

If they freak'in don't pay me for the coins they bought I'll be on the warpath. Never mess with a Celt!
But doesn't this have to do with counterfeits and not over graded coins from 3rd party services???

One more thing we should all b*tch to eBay about, why do they allow people to hide their feedback profiles?? The only people who do this are scam artists and hucksters. WHY?????????
  • MSD61MSD61 Posts: 3,382
Well I called coinmovers since they ignored my emails and got some guy who told me I had the wrong number and had no idea what I was talking about. Well we shall see if the second bidder responds and if not....back to the drawing board. Coinmovers has now been blocked from any of my further auctions.

Add to that the sellers who make all their past auctions in their feedback history "private" so you can't see if they have a history of selling junk or selling fakes by looking at their past auctions.

Still, if bidders would "just say no" to auctions by people who do this, it would be a non-issue.

Did you call the number that eBay has on file for them? If so, report them to eBay for having bogus contact information. That's a NARU offense.

  • I really hope this helps. I remember a couple years back when Ebay was the place to auction wine. You could find alot of good deals and alot of major players auctioning wine. You also had the scumbags and bottom feeders selling fakes and misrepresenting wine. Ebay finally got sick of all the legal battles and hassles and ended the wine auctions. I am sure it cost Ebay a pretty penny in fees. I can see the same thing happen to the coin auctions. It may become to much of a hassle to Ebay and they just stop allowing coin auctions. Lets hope it doesn't happen and this helps.
