Okay here it is, we made it. I was a little worried we wouldn't have enough donations, but the coins have been pouring in.
This Essay Contest is open to all YNs between the ages of 5-13 years old, whether they are a member here or not, whether they received a goodie-bag last year is also immaterial. If you can type it, you can enter them or you can send the hand written entries to my PO Box. Either way, the contest closes 12 midnight on July 4th. Entries after that time will not be accepted. No help from parents, brothers, uncles, friends, neighbors ect. I want original material from the kids. That's what makes this so special. If it sounds like it was written by a 44 year engineer, you won't be winning a prize.
Depending on the number of entries vs. donations, everyone who enters might end up getting a goodie-bag or the top 4 Finalists might only receive prizes. Obviously the more donations I get, the more there will be to give out to everyone. Prizes will be announced at the end of the contest. COIN DONATION LIST -- Prizes
Any questions -- PM me.
PM me with your essays. Please note you are giving me permission to post your essays on these Boards by submitting them for the contest. If you would rather send the original essays written by your kids, forward them to

Okay here's the topic ---------------------
What is your favorite coin and why is it so special to you?????
It can be as long ansd detailed as you want or as brief as necessary. All entries will be judged against those in it's class. Meaning a 5 year old might win over a 13 year old, if the work submitted by the younger contestant was exceptional for a 5 year old versus an average essay for a 13 year old. Obviously the older you are, the better your essay should be.
Have Fun!!!!!! Happy 4th of July!!!!!
And thanks to everyone who donated in order to make this possible!!

I think this a pretty great thing you are doing, and although I am very new to these boards, I expect I'll be around a while (I've been collecting for 17 years), so please let me know next time you do one of these so I'll have time to send in a donation.
