I'd say EF40, if genuine. (Not that it looks fake to me, because it doesn't, but there are some deceptive Trade dollar fakes out there).

I'm sorry, but I don't believe that one is authentic. The rim at 10:00 is one tell along with the overall appearance, obverse and reverse, of the item.

The entire coin has a crude look to it. Weigh it.
    vf 30-35.

It could just be the way it has worn that makes it look odd but as one example the first S in states on the reverse has a lower serif but not a upper one.

Looks upper vf to me, but the surfaces seem somewhat unnatural?

The surfaces look funny. Could it be cleaned?

The coin looks like an Ch VF, but like some others, I think from the scan that there is good chance that this coin is not genuine. I don't like the dentiles; I don't like the mushy look to "E Pluribus Unium;" and I don't like the area where the brown spot is on the reverse.

If this is not certified by a company that knows counterfeits (SEGS or better) I'd stay away from this unless you are 100% sure you can get a refund if it turns out to be no good.

Odd looking coin to me too. But, if it were real, then it's the rare 76CC T1 rev (non-DDO) variety. I believe that there's only two MM varieties for this, but Keoj would know them off the top of his head.

There was a thread yesterday about an ebay seller who had a fake 16-D dime, 42/1dime, possibly altered 37-D three legged, and a whole group of fake trade dollar all using the same rev die. This TD appears to have the same reverse die so it is probably fake.

Coupled with what everyone has stated thus far, check out the fields. They appear too smooth and the detail appears slightly off.

Weighing it is your best bet as many are made with some silver, but the weight will be a tad light.

Good luck with it, but I believe you're going to be disapointed and better to read it here first, I'd imagine.
