When someone sends you a "pending"paypal payment,do you wait until it's no longer pending before you mail item,or send it while payment is still pending?

Treat just like a check and have to wait until it clears.

I send them an email saying something like..." Thank you so much for your Echeck through Paypal. I will ship your order as soon as payment is confirmed and cleared."

Just so they know what your policy is.

If it's an e-check, wait for it to clear.
But I think if it is a normal,from bank account payment you are required to ship within 24hrs. for the paypal protection to be good.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong

all others pay cash !
i always wait till it clears.
Paypal is so slow to clear e-checks,when i have to send one it generally clears my bank 2 days b4 paypal does !
Personal checks seem to be much faster today,when we take one to the bank and they run it through the coder,long as its good at that point my bank wont even hold funds,we dont get many,but i had one from NY,im in CAL,for over 500.00 couple weeks back and they released the money on the spot.

out of curiousity, at what point can the customer no longer reverse the charges? is it after the $ is confirmed in your bank account, or can they still do it then?

e-check or instant transfer is nearly impossible to reverse

Depends on their feedback (if it's an eBay transaction), and the amount of the purchase. Good feedback, or a low dollar amount, and I'll ship right away. Low or questionable feedback, or if it's a lot of money, I'll wait.

Other factors come into play as well. If I just sold ten items, and nine paid with instant transfers and one with an e-check, I'll usually just send all ten and avoid an extra trip to the P.O.
